Tarot and the Occult- Nine of Disks, Gain

Do what Thou Will shall be the whole of the Law

We are close to finishing the Disks series of the Tarot. We have this card, ten, and the Major ones. We have seen a nice array of Disks cards so far, and now we have one that, once again, means something perceived as good.

The nine of Disks is a card that most people will like to see, and there is great symbolism in this card, especially the The Deck by Crowleynumber nine, which is a number of completeness and of gain.

Before I continue on, though, I want to point out that I am using the Thoth deck. I personally love this deck, the design, and who made the deck. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in Tarot.

If you don’t want or don’t use the Thoth deck, please note that your deck may not say Disks, but it will say pentacle, and they are the same thing, just a different way of saying it.

So let’s get started on the Tarot and the Occult!

Gains will be made!

This card is definitely a card that people would like to see! It focuses on a material gain that one has been working toward. This can be financial or otherwise.

Because this card is part of the disks suit, it does focus on the material more than anything else, so keep that in mind if you get this card. This probably is not talking about gains in relationships and love.

However, as great as this card is, it is vital that you remember that these gains should not be taken in a prideful manner. Material gains are great and helpful, but they can affect our relationships if we are not careful.

That being said, though, I would also encourage the reader to enjoy whatever it is that they will be gaining! It’s okay to indulge in life, and can be healthy!

If you are interested in another interpretation of this card, I have embedded a video for your convenience to see what others are saying as well!

Design of the Card, a design of Gains

The first thing you will notice is that there are three circles in the middle of the card, each one a different color, and two of them overlapping with one of them.

Lord of GainsI think these colors may have some meaning to them, which could be love, wisdom, and life. The life is a creative force that comes through the card and into the person, as we see the beams are green, which I feel is the color for this life force.

Then we see that there are six coins. These coins help represent the fact that there will be a material gain. There are also three on the top, and three on the bottom.

The top three are masculine forces, representing Saturn, Mars, and Jupiter. The bottom three are feminine forces, representing Mercury, Venus, and the Moon.

Each of the coins tell us something about the nature of this card. For instances, I believe that Mars, who is on the bottom left at the top, represents a gain through our own force, our own energy.

Likewise, on the top left on the feminine side, we have Mercury, who teaches us the importance of communication with others to achieve these gains.

In the masculine bottom right side we have Jupiter, which represents our openness to achieve the gain. The opposite of it on the feminine side is an intuition, a self searching to get the material gain, as the Venus is a more finding meaning through the heart kind of sign.

On the top of the Masculine sign we have Saturn, who is a sing that follows a certain set of ways to make the gains needed. On the opposite is the Moon, who follows intuition despite the certain steps needed to take.

So then, this card shows the importance of a balance in order to get the gains desired.

Sign of Virgo, practical

This card has Virgo as it’s sign. This is fitting for this card because Virgo deals with practical matters, and is an earth sign. The gains this card deals with are practical, material gains.

It is Virgo the Virgintelling us that we need to stay focused on what we are gaining and to be practical when trying to get what we are going for. This is the best way to go about whatever these gains may be.

If we do not fall within the Virgo sign when you get this card, the card may not have as strong an effect, but it is still important to remember to go about this in a practical manner.

Venus as the Ruler

Oh the beautiful Venus! My favorite planet of all! Anyway, Venus is the ruler over the Lord of Gain. This is fitting because Venus deals with love and money.

Venus is telling us tVenus, the beautifulo follow our heart’s desire. This is something that we will get great success from!

It also denotes some material gain, especially with money, if that is what you are looking for.

If we are under the Venus sign, you need to be careful, as this card will be intensified! Be careful not to be boastful, and try not to focus too much time on what it is you are gaining! This can lead to a problem with your psychological health, and with your relationships. Take time out to spend with those you love, and to enjoy something else in your life that you find enjoyable!

Conclusion

All together this is a great card to have pulled! It has a great meaning to it and has beautiful symbolism attached to it. If you have this card pulled on you, embrace it!

Remember what I said about pride, though, as that can cause damage to your life, and it could be damage that makes the gains not worth it in the end.

Remember that I used the Thoth deck. Other decks offer the same card, but the symbolism may not be as strong or slightly different from the symbolism in this cards design.
